Judging the Poodle Club of
Canada National Specialty 2009 I felt indescribable
sensations. A real nature scene passed in front of my eyes for
all the four hours of judging. My heartily congratulations to
the numerous breeders, owners, handlers, to the president
David Pateman and to all the Poodle Club Of Canada. I was
honored to be the first Italian and one of the few Europeans
to be invited to judge the biggest yearly event in the
country. Thanks so much to all!!!!
The Champion “Tango The
Kind and I” (Isis Renassaince Headline News ex Signet High
Society) owned by Mrs. Sue Donald and bred by Mrs. Lisa
Goodwin has dominated over all competitors being my Best In
Show. After the show his breeder told me that this spectacular
dog is a Multiple Best In Show winner in the country and took
also the award of merit at Westminster 2009. He is leading for
the Top poodle all sizes in Canada together with an Avatar
bitch bred by the talented Anders Rosell and Stephen Wheeler
and owned by Linda Campbell.
“Solomon” is a stunning
black standard of 4 years old. Perfect in the general
proportions and with excellent musculature. A male of super
high quality for the breed expression in all his details. His
elegance in the movement, ring presence and distinction made a
perfect picture with his handler Crystal Murray that took my
eyes and heart giving an incredible emotion. Surely the
success will be the present and future of this wonderful dog!!
The Best of Opposite was the
black CH ”Bellefleet Sanvar Got To Dance” (Apiele
Bronzini ex Sanvar Bellefleet Dixie Chick) and excellent bitch
with good movement very feminine with dark eyes and good chin.
“Dawin
Dance a Tyme To Rosebar”
(Bar None Dawin Carte Blanche ex Dawin Dance
The Night Away) was my Best of Winners and Best Puppy in
breed, a black standard still very young (12 months) but
already very well built, of excellent proportion and very
elegant in the movement.
A wonderful stunning white
male CH "Ormar Allure No Regrets” (Litillan’s
Book’em Daniel ex Stargazer La Femme Allure) got the honor
title of Award of Merit. Great ring presence and spectacular
movement made clear his champion quality. He has an impressive
masculine expression and a great coat quality for texture and
coat.
Best brood bitch was the
black CH "Sanvar Bellefleet Dixie Chick” (CH Sanvar’s
Rocky Mountain High ex CH Sanvar’s Major High). Best stud dog
was “Apiele Bronzini” (Apeile OffshoreCapability ex

Very interesting the
miniatures, overall with a very good quality, good bodies,
short back and most of all with good movements. Exquisite well
cheselled head of “Palman Nautilus” a silver male that
was Winners dog, so difficult to find such a quality in a
silver. In bitches Winners bitch and Best of Winners was the
black “Lilu Lukimo Uzgaida Listed” (Warming Black
Balzac ex Cinta DivLikimo Uzgaida) and Best of Breed was the
US bred CH ”Dassin Giselle” (Dassin Reignon Di Caprio
ex Dassin Reignon Madas) a black bitch with an intense eye
expression, with excellent body proportions and muscles for a
mini. Excellent coat quality and superb presented by her
handler Mrs. Kim Wendling. “Giselle” was so proud moving in
the ring with an excellent speed and head carriage.
Best of opposite and Best
Canadian Bred in Breed was conquered with his full elegance
and strong temperament by the black male CH “Bellefleet
Dynamic Force” (Warming Brown Surprise ex Sanvar
Bellefleet Delta Force) . A real stunning male. My Award of
Merit in minis went to the black bitch CH “Lyn-Del Aberwin
Enchanted Ceilidh” (Cabryn Lord of Illusion ex Ravendune
Lyn-Del Riverdance) with her incredible back drive movement
full of distinction. Best puppy was the black bitch
“Thalpet Black Jade of Tameral” (Warming Brown Surprise ex
Kasalland Blackopal of Tameral) a great bitch with a brilliant
future, a super mover with a great constuction and a very
beautiful head and expression.
Very very interesting the
toy size, all were very harmonious in the size, here they
don’t have to be over 10 inches and heads, bodies and
movements were perfectly tuned…congratulations!!!
The bitch “Let´s Go Crazy
Paisley” (Samkel’s Amorita’s Ricco ex Ynot I must be Crazy
At Pioneer) was Reserve Winners Bitch and Best Bred by
Exhibitor in Breed. A bitch of good quality that was perfectly
handled and groomed by her owner even if she was not a
professional handler. Winners toy bitch was “Pomroth What
Not To Wear” (Pomroth Atta Boy Andy ex Elk Creek Keweton
Spirit) it was wonderful to see her moving, so elegant with
great dark eyes, excellent head and neck and very well
angulated. Best of Opposite was the male CH “Jobren
Mahogany Foxtrot” (Charades Cairo at Jobren ex Draco
Jobren Chestnut Vixen) a very compact male with good shoulder,
neck, feet and great drive in the back movement.
Best puppy in breed, Best
Canadian bred, Best of Breed and RESERVE BEST IN SHOW
was CH “Pomroth Sweet Mesquite” (Pomroth Java Isle ex
Charades Ashanti). She is an extraordinary brown bitch of 13
months old. A beautiful head well chiseled proportioned to the
body, excellent neck, shoulder, good hindquarters with
excellent muscles. The great quality was her eye color, dark
brown…a rarity!!!
At the end of my article I
would like to share with you my happiness and satisfaction
breeding this wonderful breed since around 30 years with my
family, and having the opportunity to evaluate and touch the
great work done by Europeans, Scandinavian and North American
breeders.
Having the opportunity to
admire and award the breeder’s hard work is the great
confirmation that the Poodle is one of the most loved and best
bred breeds in the world!!
A great thanks to all!!
